WHAT IS MARZ TODAY?
Marz Today makes handmade stamps. These stamps are hand carved from a variety of materials such as rubber sheets, carving blocks imported from Japan, and mostly regular erasers.
I don’t often repeat designs. Sometimes I carve stamps of the same designs in small batches leaving no one stamp ever alike. I take inspiration from everyday objects, people, and current events and so the stamps I make are not those that you’d easily find in a craft store.
I taught myself how to make stamps and have been making them since 2013. I’ve had the opportunity to exhibit my works in several group exhibitions. I have done stamp demos at Kawaii Market, Art Mod fair, and Glorietta Art Book Fair.
WHY MARZ TODAY?
“Marz Today” is the name of my personal blog which I started in 2004. Today, my stamps have become my medium for chronicling current events. I’ve been blogging less about my personal life and focused more on stamp making since my day job requires me to write a lot.
WHAT I DO WHEN I’M NOT MAKING STAMPS
I am journalist in the arts and lifestyle beat. I contribute to Art+ Magazine, CNN Philippines, and Real Living PH. In addition, do freelance work that involves web development and video editing. If you would like to see my published work you may view them here.
